Why?:
Through my experience as an educator, I’ve learned that images have a remarkable ability to inspire thought, curiosity, and conversation. I believe visual art can serve as a powerful bridge to deeper language comprehension—connecting what we see with what we think, say, and ultimately remember.
By combining visual engagement with communicative language learning, students don’t simply learn new language; they build meaningful associations that strengthen comprehension, expression, and recall.
How?:
I developed a methodology called VISTA, which uses visual imagery as a catalyst for observation, interpretation, discussion, and language development.
The approach is inspired in part by the educational philosophy of Czech educator Jan Amos Komenský (Comenius), who championed learning through direct experience, observation, and the sensory world.
VISTA brings that principle into contemporary language education: see, think, communicate, and remember.
